Football, known as soccer in the United States and Canada, is a popular sport played by two teams of eleven players with a spherical ball. Geschichte des Fußballs

Football has ancient origins, but the modern version of the game began in England in the 19th century. The Football Association was founded in 1863, which standardized the rules of the game and made it more organized. Since then, football has grown in popularity and has spread across the globe.

The main rule is that players other than the goalkeepers may not intentionally touch the ball with their hands or arms while it is in play. The match is played in two 45-minute halves with a 15-minute break in between.
